They went way harder than they really needed to and I'm so happy about it. The aforementioned Marineford fight choreography was really solid. The stylized recaps of each of the arcs looks really good, and the combat scenes (ESPECIALLY in Marineford, which has unique fight choreography in one or two of the cutscenes, instead of just taking the ending to a fight from the manga like the other Memoria sections did) were really good. Maybe I was expecting too much, idk.Ī surprising thing that I love about this game is the animations and visual design. Corazon showing up in the Dressrosa chapter was good, but again I feel it didn't live up to the full potential that could have had. The Marineford chapter, while it was really good, doesn't live up to what I expected with a post-timeskip Luffy with his full crew trying to save Ace. Franky and Brook aren't with you in Alabasta and Water 7, so there's no real changes there. The trailers made me think that they would be massively changed, but there's generally not that much. The Memoria's are cool, and what we get is cool, but I don't think they're different enough. Alabasta, Water Seven, Marineford, Dressrosa Will you make the same choices in a world made from your own memoriesONE PIECE ODYSSEY releases January 13, 20. I also don't think they fully live up to the potential of Memoria. Yeah, I wish they made it more apparent where lore was hidden. And since you sometimes have to switch to Luffy for traversal, and as I said earlier there's a small delay on character switching. Upon spotting the crew, Lim preemptively uses. Like most rational people, Lim doesn’t trust pirates. But I DON'T like that they give you the ability near the end of the Water 7 chapter, so you have to backtrack through all the areas you've already explored to find the lore, with zero indication of where they could be, so you just have to run all around as Robin to try and find them. The island has only two inhabitants: an adventurer named Adio and his surrogate daughter, Lim. Robin's ability to find hidden lore is really cool, and I like looking for lore as her. Also, I don't like how the game forces you to backtrack for lore. Gum Gum Rocket also takes a little bit too long, since you have to wait until you hit the ground before you can move again. One Piece Odyssey More Important Than Berries is a fetch quest you’ll have to complete for Pompous Tam in Nanohana by finding his Lost Photograph. Switching characters goes to a black screen for one second, which makes it feel kind of sluggish, which is unfortunate when you're going to be switching characters often for the sake of collectibles. Everything takes slightly longer than it should. Exploration has some very slow elements to it. It's enjoyable but not enjoyable enough for me to fight every enemy I see. This is admittedly worst in the Alabasta chapter, and it gets so much better when you leave Alabasta, but it's still there in some form in the future chapters. It's enjoyable, but they really like padding the game out. The story and the characterization are fantastic, but I didn't expect any less. It's good so far (I'm on the final chapter).
